We would welcome an Algerian student in our program; we have faculty support in Arabic, French, Spanish, and Italian, and we have published a special issue of Metamorphoses on the Arab World. We have had several Iraqi students in our program in the past, but so far none from Algeria. Best, Edwin

Edwin,
Thanks for posting our list. Your point about the need for more training in languages is right on. But there must also be a new focus on translation training. The traditional education process is outdated and does not reflect the realities of the new world of translation. We have been talking to universities about this new approach. Let me know if UMass would like to join the conversation.
